David Zelinsky is born in Poland

1875

David becomes an apprentice in the painting field at the age of 10.
David leaves New York at 18 years old.

1883

1884

David establishes D. Zelinsky and Sons in Oakland, California. Offices were transferred shortly after to San Francisco.
David marries Miss Celia Gilbert daughter of pioneer California family who settled in Big Oaks Flat, Tuolumne County California

1888

1906

The original shop on Haye's Street burned down in the fire due to an earth quake
The Sons of David Zelinsky: Herbert, Mervyn (Mike), and Frederick have entered the business and opened offices in L.A.

1912

1913

The firm incorporated as D. Zelinsky & Sons Incorporated 

1920

Herbert Zelinsky is disabled from World War and retires from the business as Secretary
The firm re-incorporated as D. Zelinsky & Sons Incorporated San Francisco and D. Zelinsky & Sons Incorporated Los Angeles

David Zelinsky passes away
Department of Interior Building and the Annex to the Library of Congress Washington D. C were painted by the D. Zelinsky & Sons, Inc

Ken Zelinsky becomes an apprentice in the painting field 

1957

Ken Zelinsky; then Vice President of D Zelinsky and Sons  flies to Hawaii to investigate the construction industry. 

1971

With Ken's recommendation,  D. Zelinsky and Sons main headquarters in  San Francisco agrees to open a Honolulu office.
